Discover China's capital through Beijing Capital Airport, a major global hub blending tradition with cutting-edge infrastructure.
About the city
Beijing has been a capital for most of the last eight hundred years, and it shows in the scale of what it built. The Forbidden City is the largest palace complex in the world; the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace are close behind, and the Great Wall is a morning's drive from the centre.
Between those monuments the hutongs — the old grey-brick lanes — are still the best way to see how the city actually lives. Beijing is also a major connecting point into the rest of China and East Asia. Autumn is the clearest and most comfortable season.
