Special assistance
Tell us what you need and we will arrange it. The earlier you let us know, the more we can do.
Expectant mothers
We are happy to welcome expectant mothers on board, and in most cases no special arrangements are needed.
If you are travelling before the end of your 28th week, you may fly without documentation. From the 28th week onwards, please carry a medical certificate from your doctor stating your expected due date and confirming that you are fit to fly. The certificate should be issued no more than seven days before your flight.
We are unable to accept passengers travelling after the end of the 36th week of a single pregnancy, or after the end of the 32nd week of a multiple pregnancy. If you are booking a return journey, please check that your return date also falls within these limits.
If your pregnancy has involved complications, please contact us before booking so that we can advise you properly.
Children travelling alone
Children aged 5 to 11 travelling without an adult are accepted only as unaccompanied minors. Our staff meet the child at check-in, accompany them through the airport, look after them on board and hand them over to the named adult at the destination.
Young people aged 12 to 17 may travel as ordinary passengers. The unaccompanied minor service can be requested if you prefer. Children under 5 must travel with an accompanying adult.
How to arrange it
The service must be booked in advance and cannot be arranged at the airport. We will ask for the full name, address and contact number of the adult dropping the child off and of the adult collecting them. Both must bring identification, and the adult dropping the child off must remain at the airport until the flight has departed.
Documents
The child must carry a valid passport, any required visa and, where the law requires it, notarised consent to travel from their parents or guardians. Requirements differ by country — please check the rules at both ends of the journey before booking.
Passengers with reduced mobility
We want your journey to be straightforward, and the earlier we know what you need, the better we can arrange it. Please tell us at least 48 hours before departure, and when booking if you can. We will do our best to meet later requests, but we cannot guarantee them.
Airport and boarding assistance
Depending on what you need, we can provide a wheelchair from the terminal entrance to the aircraft door, assistance through check-in, security and passport control, help boarding and disembarking, and help reaching your seat. It helps us if you can tell us which of these applies:
- You can walk short distances and manage steps, but need help over longer airport distances
- You can walk short distances but cannot manage steps
- You are unable to walk and need assistance at every stage
Your own wheelchair
You may bring your own manual or electric wheelchair free of charge, in addition to your baggage allowance. It will be carried in the hold and returned to you at the aircraft door or in the baggage hall, whichever you prefer. Electric wheelchairs need advance notice: please tell us the battery type and rating when you book, as different rules apply to wet, dry and lithium batteries.
Guide dogs and assistance animals
Please contact us before booking so that we can confirm the requirements for your route.
Vision or hearing impairment
Let us know in advance and our crew will give you the safety briefing individually and keep you informed throughout the flight.
Medical conditions
If you have a medical condition that may need attention during the flight, if you have recently had surgery, or if you need to travel on a stretcher or with oxygen, please contact us before booking. In these cases we ask for medical clearance, arranged through a standard medical information form completed by your doctor.
Medication
Carry essential medication in your hand baggage, in its original packaging, with a copy of your prescription or a letter from your doctor. Liquid medication is exempt from the usual cabin restrictions on liquids, but be prepared to present it at security.
Recent illness or surgery
Please allow enough time before flying and follow your doctor's advice. If you are unsure, contact us.
Travelling with infants
Infants under 7 days old are not accepted for travel.
An infant may travel on an adult's lap, or in a separate seat with an approved child restraint. A pushchair and a car seat may be carried free of charge in addition to your baggage allowance, and a pushchair can normally be used up to the aircraft door.
How to request assistance
Write to us with your booking reference and what you need, at least 48 hours before departure.

These conditions follow the standard applied across the industry, including EU Regulation 1107/2006. If your situation is not covered here, please contact us before booking rather than at the airport.
